Week 6 – 037/365

From Wikipedia:

The Scarecrow is Dr. Jonathan Crane, a professor of psychology and expert in the psychology of fear, who turns to crime after being fired due to his eccentric behavior and appearance. His modus operandi is the adoption of a Scarecrow persona, used to threaten his victims into doing whatever he wants.  He uses a variety of drugs and psychological tactics to exploit the fears and phobias of his adversaries, and the Scarecrow is a member of Batman’s rogues gallery.

The Scarecrow uses a variety of toxins that cause his victims to hallucinate that their phobias have come to life.

Shamefully, this idea was not mine.  I originally wanted today to just be some photos of smoke photography with some assistance from my boyfriend, but he wanted to have smoke rising from the Lego man’s hands (he was holding the Scarecrow at this point).  As we didn’t have dry ice, this was impossible, so we took some shots of smoke.  After a few shots, he got up and dug around for a piece for a Lego to stand on.

He wears his Scarecrow mask to enhance the effect of the hallucinogen (instilling fear in all who see him) as well as to avoid being poisoned by his own toxin.

The first few were just ‘meh’ shots, consisting of a weak, wispy line of smoke that wasn’t even impressive when we use air currents to make it billow slightly.  I convinced my boyfriend to sacrifice about 1/4 of a stick to the cause and we were able to get a very good background of smoke.  Unfortunately, the smoke did not last very long, but we are both very happy with the results.

His mastery of fear is such that the yellow power ring of Amon Sur tried to seek him out at Arkham after its masters death, though it was stopped before reaching him.
